William B. Brueggeman

William B. Brueggeman, the Clara R. and Leo F. Corrigan, Sr. Endowed Chair in Real Estate, joined the SMU faculty in 1978. He became the chair of the Real Estate, Risk Management and Business Law Department in 1998. Professor Brueggeman earned a Ph.D. at The Ohio State University, an M.B.A. at Loyola University, and a B.S. degree at the University of New Orleans - all with honors. At SMU he has taught economics, finance, real estate & urban land development and corporate finance. His co-authored textbook, Real Estate Finance and Investments, in its 16th edition and 65th year of publication, been translated into six languages and used at more than 200 colleges and universities. Professor Brueggeman has written and co-authored more than 50 articles for academic and industry publications. Prior to SMU he taught at The Ohio State University and the University of Florida. He retires as Professor Emeritus of Real Estate.
